Please refer to our Designs web page or our Collections if you would like to acquire your own bespoke outfit. We can create any of these designs for you as a bespoke costume using your preferred fabrics and colours. This design then becomes uniquely yours and will not be repeated. Alternatively, we can create an outfit for you from scratch where a consultation becomes part of the design process.
We strongly recommend that you make an appointment either in our studio, by phone or e-mail for a consultation.
Please remember that if you are unable to visit us you must provide accurate measurements to avoid any problems with the fit of the final outfit.
Please refer to our Body Shapes & Measurements pages for further information. Ask a member of your family or a friend to assist you with this process. We cannot take responsibility if we receive inaccurate measurements so please take your time, and pay careful attention to every detail.
You should also allow plenty of time for us to design and create your outfit, and for delivery. All of our outfits are hand made and require time and patience. Advance planning will also avoid disappointment during busy periods when we may be unable to take on new work at short notice. Finally we recommend that you are wary of ‘copy cats' or ‘facsimiles'. A professional dressmaker/ fashion designer creates all of our costumes, using appropriate quality fabrics and trims. What may appear to be a stunning design on paper can become a disaster in the wrong hands, especially if corners are then cut with fabrics or finishing techniques.

Congratulations! You are engaged to be married. You are looking forward to planning for the big day but you don't know where to begin. And perhaps your biggest dilemma is deciding on your 'dream' wedding dress.
However, the first step is to decide what kind of wedding you would prefer – Traditional? Informal? Themed? And don't forget about the time of year and the venue. Will you need your designer wedding dress to keep you warm on a chilly winter's day? Or would you like a bolero or maybe just a simple chiffon wedding dress? Whether you wish us to create that dream wedding gown for you or to buy a ready made costume, we recommend you ask a member of your family, or a close friend, for an honest opinion first, and yes…you will need time for researching your favoured style or fashion. If you are considering an ‘off the peg' design, you should observe the following guidelines:
- Put aside plenty of time for shopping around,
- Do not shop around by yourself,
- Try the dress on
- Ask if a couple of photographs can be taken of yourself with the outfit(s) on – it is better to make up your mind over a few days rather than under the pressure of a shop assistant.
If you choose a BESPOKE wedding dress, then the process is more complex and a little more hands on. At Romantique Couture, we can guide you through this process, covering all aspects from choosing fabrics, to designing, creating and fitting your dream wedding dress.
